    • Math:  We will learn about operations and algebraic thinking. We will begin to work on multiplication fluency.
      • Ch. 1      Place Value Charts
      • Ch. 3      Addition up to 10,000
      • Ch. 4      Subtraction up to 10,000
      • Ch. 2      Mental Math and Estimation
    • Science: We will be studying animal classifications. What animals have vertebrate? How are animals classified?
    • Social Studies: We will be studying spatial sense, geographical terms and features, and the rivers of the world. Students will identify a major river on each continent. Students will build a River Box and label important geographical terms and features.   
    • Writing: We will practice the writing process in whole group, collaboratively, and independently. We will create persuasive paragraphs and point of view paragraphs. We incorporate capitalization, punctuation, nouns, verbs, adjectives, ABC order, prefixes, and suffixes in Grammar and Morphology. 
    • Reading: We will explore fiction texts and practice short constructed responses and citing textual evidence. We will also look for context clues, author's purpose, sequencing, while we read Wind in the Willows and Alice in Wonderland. We will incorporate curriculum vocabulary through word work during the Daily 5. 
    • Spelling: We will have new words every Monday and will have a test every Friday. EACH STUDENT WILL HAVE A NEW SPELLING EACH WEEK, PLEASE LOOK IN YOUR STUDENT'S PLANNER TO SEE WHICH ONES THAT YOUR STUDENT WILL NEED TO STUDY FOR THE TEST AT THE END OF THE WEEK!
